INBIL RUN Sunday 18 June 2017
On Sunday 26 March Susan and I did the route check for this outing. It promises to be a great outing through very scenic country.
The roads were somewhat narrow in places and the route is very hilly but is an enjoyable drive. We used our 1934 Daimler for the drive and were able to climb all hills encountered in top gear so the moderns should have no trouble.
We will meet at the Landsborough Museum 0830 – 0900 and proceed via Maleny and Kenilworth to Imbil for lunch at the Railway Hotel. We will stop at Mary Cairncross lookout for a BYO morning tea. There is now a lookout deck in the park so there is no reason to risk injury crossing the road for a look at the splendid view of the Glasshouse Mountains and surrounding area.
After a splendid meal at the Railway Hotel we had a look around the town. Surprisingly there is quite a bit to see for such a small town. I spoke to the manager of the Railway Hotel and he would want some warning of numbers attending on the day so could you please RSVP.
I will have route cards available on the day for those who want them.
