A Scenic Run in the Country Incorporating Two Dams
WHEN: Thursday 21st April 2022
08:30am START: Skippy Park 335 Old Landsborough Road Landsborough
The route covers almost 130 kilometres, and takes in Baroon Pocket Dam (morning tea) and then continues via Maleny, Reesville, Woodford, D’Aguilar, Mt Mee, and Dayboro, to Lunch at Forgan Park on Lake Samsonvale.
There is around 2.5 hours driving. Meet at around 8:30am for a 9am start. The navigation is easy, so the chances of becoming lost should be minimal. There will be optional (easy) observation questions with a worthwhile prize.
This is a selfcatered run, just to keep things simple. Useful things to bring:
• Sufficient fuel to cover the run plus getting to Skippy Park and home from Lake Samsonvale
• Morning tea, lunch. There are electric BBQ’s at Forgan Park, so cater to suit your taste.
• Folding Chairs. Although there is plentiful seating and tables available, for flexibility and convenience you may wish to bring your own.
• All the items you might need for a picnic in the country • Hats, sunscreen etc – Forgan Park is well treed, but if you are prone to burn, a hat and sunscreen might help • Remember to have some water in the car, just in case Except for poor Skippy Park, which was denuded in the recent weather event around Beerwah, the country we will travel through is at its brilliant best, so there will be plenty to see.
